Ingredients You’ll Need

Urad dal (split black gram) Cumin seeds Black pepper Curry leaves Green chilies Salt

Soak the Urad Dal

Start by soaking urad dal in water for 4-6 hours or overnight. This helps make the batter light and fluffy for those crispy Vadas!

Grind to Perfection

Drain the soaked dal and grind it into a smooth, thick batter. Add a little water if needed, but make sure the batter isn’t too runny.

Spice It Up!

Mix in finely chopped green chilies, curry leaves, cumin seeds, and black pepper for that burst of flavor. Add salt to taste.

Shape the Vadas

Wet your hands and shape the batter into small doughnuts or round balls. Make a hole in the center to help them cook evenly and stay crispy.

Fry Until Golden

Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Gently drop the shaped vadas into the hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides.

Serve and Enjoy!

Serve your crispy, hot Medu Vadas with coconut chutney or sambar. Perfect for breakfast or a tasty snack to share with loved ones!
