Matar Paneer is a popular North Indian dish made with tender paneer (cottage cheese) and green peas (matar) in a flavorful, spiced tomato-based gravy. It’s a perfect vegetarian curry for any occasion!

Paneer (200g, cubed) Green peas Tomatoes Onion Ginger-garlic paste Turmeric Cumin Coriander powder Garam masala Fresh cilantro
Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Then, add ginger-garlic paste and cook until fragrant. Next, blend in chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften into a smooth paste.
Add turmeric, cumin, coriander powder, and salt to the tomato-onion mix. Stir well and cook for a minute to release the spices' aromas. This step forms the flavorful gravy for your curry!
Add the green peas and cubed paneer to the gravy. Stir gently to coat the ingredients with the spices. Cook for 5 minutes, allowing the peas and paneer to absorb all the flavors.
Add water or milk to adjust the gravy's consistency as per your preference. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the peas are tender and the curry thickens.
Garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve your delicious Matar Paneer with naan, roti, or rice. Enjoy this comforting, flavorful dish with your loved ones!
