Rava (Semolina) Vegetables (carrot, peas, onions) Mustard seeds Curry leaves Ghee or oil Spices
Begin by dry-roasting the Rava in a pan on low heat until it turns golden and aromatic. Set it aside for later.
Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies. Let them sizzle and infuse flavor into the oil.
Toss in finely chopped onions, carrots, and peas. Sauté until the vegetables are cooked through.
Add water (double the quantity of Rava) and bring it to a boil. Slowly stir in the roasted Rava, covering and cooking on low heat.
Add salt, a dash of lemon juice, and fresh coriander for extra flavor. Mix everything well.
Serve hot with coconut chutney or pickle. Your homemade Rava Upma is ready to be enjoyed!
