Rajma Urad Dal is a hearty, protein-rich dish combining kidney beans (rajma) and black urad dal. Perfect for a filling, nutritious meal!

Rajma Black urad dal Onions Tomatoes Garlic Ginger Cumin Turmeric Ghee
Soak 1 cup of rajma and ½ cup of urad dal in water for at least 6-8 hours or overnight. This will help them cook faster and become tender.
In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee. Add cumin seeds, chopped ginger, garlic, and onions. Sauté until golden and aromatic for a rich base.
Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften and blend into a flavorful paste that will enrich the dal.
Add the soaked rajma and urad dal to the pot along with 4 cups of water. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes or until the beans are soft and tender.
Once cooked, mash some of the dal for a creamy consistency. This will give your dish a smooth, hearty texture. Stir well!
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve this delicious, protein-packed Rajma Urad Dal with steamed rice or naan for a wholesome meal.
