Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 8 Slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 1 Cup Cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 Small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Green chili, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • ½ teaspoon Garam masala
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  •  Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoon Oil or butter for cooking
  • Water for sealing the edges
  •  Oil for frying (if frying)
  • Butter or oil for brushing(if baking)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken Filling

  • First, cook the chicken with a pinch of salt and some water until it’s tender. Then, shred the cooked chicken into small pieces and set it aside, making sure to shred it evenly so it spreads nicely inside the roll!
  • First, heat 2 tablespoons of oil or butter in a pan. Then, add the finely chopped onions and green chili, and sauté them until the onions turn golden brown. While that cooks, you can prepare the other ingredients. After that, add the ginger-garlic paste and stir it constantly until the raw smell goes away!
  • Next, add the shredded chicken to the pan, along with turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook everything for about 5 minutes so the spices mix nicely with the chicken. Once it's done, take the pan off the heat and let the filling cool down!

Prepare the Bread

  • First, take each slice of bread and cut off the crusts. Then, use a rolling pin to flatten the bread slices because the thinner the bread is, the easier it will be to roll. If the bread feels dry, just sprinkle a little water on it to make it softer!
  • Next, place a spoonful of the chicken filling at one end of the flattened bread slice. Then, roll the bread tightly and make sure to seal the edges by brushing them with a little water!

Cook the Rolls

  • First, heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the rolls in the oil and fry them until they are golden brown, turning them occasionally to make sure they cook evenly!
  • If you prefer to bake, first preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Then, place the rolls on a baking tray and brush them with butter or oil before baking for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they turn golden brown!

Serving

  • Finally, serve the Chicken Bread Rolls while they are hot, along with your favorite dip or chutney for extra flavor!

Notes

Variations

1. Firstly, if you want a healthier twist, try adding finely chopped veggies like bell peppers or carrots to the chicken filling. Not only does this make it healthier, but it also adds a nice crunch!
2. Next, if you’re a cheese lover, place a slice on top of the chicken filling before rolling the bread. This will make the rolls extra creamy and delicious when the cheese melts!
3. Finally, if you prefer a milder taste, simply use less green chili  and garam masala. This way, the rolls will still taste amazing and be more kid-friendly!
