Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon Fresh or Dried Lavender
  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • Water (1 cup for syrup, 5 cups for lemonade)
  • 1 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice

Optional Ingredients

  • Ice Cubes (to serve)
  • Lemon Slices (for garnish)
  • Sprigs of Lavender (for garnish)
  • Honey/Sugar Alternatives (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Lavender Syrup

  • Pour 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar into a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reaches a gentle simmer. Avoid boiling.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of lavender, stirring to combine.
  • Remove from heat and allow the lavender to steep in the syrup for 15 minutes. The longer it steeps, the stronger the flavor.
  • Strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve into a clean container, discarding the solids. Your lavender syrup is now ready!

Mix the Lemonade Base

  • Combine 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice with 5 cups of water in a large pitcher.
  • Adjust the ratio of lemon juice to water for personal preference. Looking for bold and tart? Add more lemon juice. Want something milder? Use less.

3. Combine and Serve

  • Stir the lavender syrup into the lemonade base, tasting as you go to ensure the sweetness is balanced to your liking.
  • Fill glasses with ice and pour the lavender lemonade over the top.
  • Garnish with a slice of lemon and a sprig of lavender. Serve and enjoy immediately.
